Travel Insurance Help
If you're travelling abroad it's strongly recommended by Foreign Office (FCO) that you take out comprehensive travel insurance. Whilst on holiday you could fall ill, have your passport or money stolen, your visit might be cancelled or cut short through injury or illness; your family may need to fly out to be with you if there is a serious incident. All these risks and more can be covered by taking out travel insurance.

Tips to Get Cheaper Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is available for single trips, annual cover (ideal for frequent travellers), backpackers, ski and snowboard holidays, business travel and even for over 65s. If you are planning on doing extreme sports on holiday you will probably need extra cover.

  • Get more than one quote if possible! Prices do vary, so shop around.
  • Ask your friends! Find out who they recommend and who they don't!
  • Compare quotes with your current policy - make sure you're getting a better deal.
  • Use the same insurer - you may get discounts if you already have a policy with them.
  • Increase your excess. A higher excess will mean lower premiums.
  • Pay for the cover that you need.
